The project aimed to deepen the EU-Brazil Strategic Partnership and bilateral relations between the parties, by supporting the development of sector dialogues on issues of mutual interest.
Based on the Ministry of Planning, Budget and Management (MP) of Brazil and the partners involved in the sector dialogues with the European Union, the action focused on topics such as Agriculture, Science and Technology, Human Rights, Climate Change, Culture, Social Development, Energy, Governance, Intellectual Property, Development of SMEs, Financial Services, Transports or Information and Communication Technologies.
As part of this project, Andrea Renda was selected as an international expert for the “Consolidation of the laws of ministries and regulatory agencies (GOVE0020)“. He performed notably three main tasks:
– Conducted a study on the pioneering experiences on the review and consolidation of the regulatory inventory in at least three European countries (namely, the United Kingdom, France and Portugal) that have already adopted good practices in this area;
– Systematized the current state of the consolidation of the norms issued by the Brazilian federal regulatory agencies;
– Disseminated, among Brazilian regulators, the best practices used in European countries in the area of reviewing and consolidating the regulatory inventory.
