European Capital Markets Institute (ECMI)
As an independent research institute with its own executive committee and editorial processes, ECMI conducts in-depth research aimed at informing the debate and policy-making process on a broad range of issues relevant to capital markets. Through its various activities, ECMI facilitates the interaction among market participants, policymakers and academics. While ECMI produces highly specialised research work which is not covered by CEPS, CEPS’ Financial Markets and Institutions Unit is tasked with the management and activities of the research institute.

European Credit Research Institute (ECRI)
Like ECMI, ECRI is an independent research institute. Founded in 1999 by a consortium of European banking and financial institutions, it develops its expertise from an interdisciplinary team and networks of academic cooperation partners. ECRI provides in-depth analysis and insight into the structure, evolution and regulation of retail financial services markets in Europe. Through its research activities, publications and conferences, ECRI keeps its members and the wider public up-to-date on a variety of topics in the area of retail financial services at the European level, such as consumer credit and housing loans, credit reporting, responsible lending and consumer protection. While ECRI produces highly specialised research work which is not covered by CEPS, CEPS’ Financial Markets and Institutions Unit is tasked with the management and activities of the research institute.
