Global Economic and Social Trends 2035

2

The Study starts from the 2015 ESPAS Global Trends Report, which identified five global economic and social trends to 2030, and investigates whether these trends have changed (strengthened, weakened, changed trajectory). It assesses whether high-profile events, which have occurred since then, constitute a fluke, a break or possibly a new trend which can impact growth prospects, trade patterns, technological development and inequality. Building on this background, the study formulates implications for the EU and develop alternative future scenarios for 2035.
