The process of ageing of the population will present new and big challenges to the whole society, including business. Firms in general will be confronted with the ageing of the labour force, and businesses such as life insurance companies, pension funds and pay-as-you-go schemes, will have to deal with the consequences of an increase in the life expectancy of the population. The Round Table will serve as a forum for discussion of common challenges, debate over future scenarios, and an assessment of their related degree of uncertainty.
