Project Officer

Basak Van Hove is a Project Officer at CEPS.

She has been an expert in project cycle management, EU-funded project coordination, development of grant applications for European and global funds, civil society organisations, education and youth policy. Basak has taken responsibilities in the assessment of grant applications and project reports for Erasmus+ projects in Turkey and in Belgium.

Previously, she was working as the European Union Expert at Yasar University EU Research Center in Izmir for 5 and a half years. She was in charge of coordinating EU-funded projects. She wrote and coordinated projects within Erasmus+ and Horizon 2020 programmes and worked with higher education institutions, civil society organisations, public sector partners at local, national and international level. Basak assisted in the organisation of  seminars, conferences and projects of the EU Center as well. Additionally, she worked as a trainer in intercultural projects, mentored and supported academicians in all steps of their projects.

She has extensive experience in project management and assessment of grant applications and project reports along with experience in data collection and analysis including conducting interviews and surveys.

She has a Ph.D. in European Studies from the Dokuz Eylul University. She was a visiting Ph.D. Student at Ghent University at Center for EU Studies in the framework of an Erasmus+ internship. She obtained her B.A. and M.A. Degrees, in Business Administration and European Studies respectively, at Dokuz Eylul University. During her M.A. studies on the EU, she was an exchange student at Ghent University.

Mother tongue Turkish, she is fluent in English and has an intermediate level in Dutch.
