Diego Valiante joined ECMI and CEPS in March 2009. He holds a BSc degree in Economics and a two-year Master’s degree (MSc) in Law and Economics from LUISS – Guido Carli University in Rome. He also holds a LL.M. Master in Law and Economics from the University of Hamburg, where he wrote his master’s thesis on the US subprime credit market. In 2010, he officially received the PhD in Law and Economics from LUISS university. As a result of his interdisciplinary education, Diego’s research areas are in financial regulation and markets, as well as competition policy, corporate governance and contract law. He has published commentaries on legal judgements for a notable Italian Law Review and papers on specific areas of financial markets and services. He also worked as intern in the Public Authorities Division of a major investment bank in Canary Wharf, London.
