Loes Debuysere is a Researcher in CEPS’ Foreign Policy Unit.

Her expertise and publications are situated at the intersections of gender politics, democratization and micro-level dynamics of conflict. Her geographic area of expertise is North Africa and the Maghreb, with a specific focus on post-Ben Ali Tunisia where she conducted extensive field research.

Loes holds a PhD in Conflict and Development Studies from the University of Ghent and a Master degree in Middle Eastern Studies from SOAS, University of London. She was previously a Schuman Trainee at the DG for External Policies of the European Parliament and is affiliated as a researcher with the Middle East and North Africa Research Group (MENARG) of Ghent University.
