Research Manager

Leonie Kunze is Research Manager in the Global Governance, Regulation, Innovation and Digital Economy (GRID) Unit where she manages the research workstreams on Research and Innovation (R&I) policy, EU and global health policy and governance, as well as better regulation and foresight. She is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery and strategic development of research projects within the unit, managing the full project lifecycle, coordinating and overseeing the unit’s activities, and strengthening relationships with internal and external partners. Leonie is project manger of the following research projects among others: ‘EU R&I and Health Policy to Tackle Global Challenges’, ‘Towards an ambitious FP10’, ‘Global Health and Agriculture R&D Perspectives’.

Before joining CEPS, Leonie worked as Monitoring and Evaluation Manager at the Africa-Europe Foundation and as Africa Programme Assistant at Friends of Europe. She has taught International Relations theory at the University of Muenster (Germany) and was Research Assistant at the Centre for International Crisis and Conflict Studies (CECRI) in Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium). She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Law from the University of Kent (UK), a Master of Arts (M.A.) in International and European Governance from the University of Muenster (Germany), as well as a Political Science Diploma in European and International Careers with specialisation in Conflict and Development Studies from Sciences Po Lille (France).
