Fanny Sauvignon is a Researcher in the Foreign Policy Unit at CEPS and the current Chair of CEPS’ Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee (DEIC). Her research activities cover EU connectivity engagement (Global Gateway) and international partnerships at regional and global level. Her main geographical focus is the Indo-Pacific/APAC, followed by MENA/SWANA and EU candidate countries (Western Balkans, Eastern Partnership).
Prior to joining CEPS in 2022, Fanny spent five years in East Asia, mostly in South Korea. From Seoul, she worked in global business development in the R&D, energy and sustainability sectors, with projects in ASEAN, the Indian Ocean and the North Atlantic. During her studies, Fanny completed international development internships in NGO and research positions, with a focus on youth integration on both sides of the Mediterranean, as well as West Africa and Southeast Asia. She took part in ad-hoc research projects on corporate ESG and impact investment.
Fanny first studied modern humanities in Paris (Lycée Henri-IV, CPGE/Undergraduate, English track) leading to her admission to ESSEC Business School, from which she holds a BSc in Economics and Management and a Master’s in Management (Grande Ecole). She then obtained an MA in International Cooperation from the Seoul National University Graduate School of International Studies (SNU-GSIS). Fanny wrote her Master’s thesis on migrant women in South Korea and their civil society support.
Her mother tongue is French. She also has an excellent command of English, intermediate proficiency in Korean and Italian, as well as basic proficiency in German.
