Project Officer

Shagofah Ghafori is a Project Officer at CEPS.

In this dynamic role, she oversees the comprehensive development and maintenance of CEPS databases, playing a pivotal part in managing projects, partners, funders, skills and expert information. Shagofah excels in identifying and cultivating relationships with potential partners and has a proven track record of contributing significantly to the preparation of competitive tender and grant proposals. Among her main tasks, Shagofah is the Project Officer of REUNIR project, a project funded by the European Commission with 12 partners from across Europe.

Shagofah collaborates closely with cross-functional teams, monitors project timelines, and implements effective strategies to address challenges. Her role involves a comprehensive understanding of project goals, resource allocation and stakeholder engagement, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of the projects under her purview. Shagofah collaborated with various EU institutions across diverse project formats.

As a member of the CEPS DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) Committee, Shagofah is committed to promoting diversity and gender equality within the organisation, aligning with the CEPS Sustainable Diversity Goals project that she coordinated before.

She has demonstrated proficiency in navigating the intricacies of EU-funded projects, having previously served in an internship capacity at the Vrije Universiteit of Brussels (VUB) for the EU-funded H2020 project “HumMingBird.” Prior to her role at CEPS, Shagofah showcased her commitment to international development through positions in NGOs in Afghanistan. Her roles included global project coordinator, reporting coordinator and socio-economic researcher on projects funded by the EU, US and CA.

Shagofah holds a Master’s Degree in European and Global Studies from Padua University, with a full scholarship from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Italy. Additionally, she earned an executive diploma from the Academy of Young Diplomates, specialising in International Organisations from the European Academy of Diplomacy in Poland. Her academic journey began with an honor’s bachelor degree in Public Administration and Policy from Herat University in Afghanistan.

Mother tongue Persian, she is fluent in English and has basic knowledge of French.
