CEPS marked its 40th anniversary with a memorable Alumni Gathering on 28 September, 2023. This exceptional occasion welcomed back former staff members, visiting scholars, interns, and collaborators to rejoin the CEPS community. It provided an opportunity for reflection, reconnection, and the official launch of the CEPS Alumni Network.

The gathering was a heartwarming reunion, bringing together people who have been a part of CEPS’ journey for four decades. Everyone shared stories from their CEPS days and connected with colleagues from different eras, creating a lively tapestry of memories and insights.

The event featured prominent alumni who have made significant contributions to the European policy landscape, including:

  • Declan Costello, Deputy Director-General, DG ECFIN, European Commission
  • Camilla Brückner, Director, UN/UNDP office in Brussels
  • Ilaria Maselli, Head of Trade Flow Insights and Economics, Maersk

During the gathering, CEPS presented its current work and ongoing projects, allowing former colleagues to reacquaint themselves with the organisation’s continued commitment to rigorous analysis and cutting-edge policy research.

One of the highlights of the evening was the official launch of the CEPS Alumni Network, a platform designed to foster connections, share insights, and facilitate collaboration among CEPS alumni. This initiative aims to create a vibrant and supportive community that leverages the collective knowledge and expertise of its members.

The CEPS Alumni Gathering concluded with a dinner, providing an ideal setting for sharing experiences and generating ideas to make the alumni network truly distinctive.

CEPS looks forward to the continued growth and vitality of the CEPS Alumni Network and the valuable contributions of its members to European policy discourse.
