Moldova’s EU accession after the second EU-Moldova summit: priorities for the path ahead

0

In-person event

The second EU-Moldova summit marks another important milestone in Moldova’s EU accession process, which has advanced at an unprecedented pace in recent years. Despite continued Russian interference, heightened geopolitical tensions and persistent security challenges on the European continent, Moldova has accelerated its reform efforts and deepened its alignment with the EU acquis, positioning itself prominently on the EU’s enlargement agenda.
This event will provide an opportunity to take stock of the outcomes of the summit and discuss the next phase of Moldova’s accession process following the opening of formal accession negotiations. The discussion will explore the key political, economic and institutional priorities that will shape Moldova’s path towards EU membership. The event will also consider the broader strategic significance of Moldova’s accession for the European Union and the future direction of the EU’s enlargement policy.
