CEPS, in cooperation with COWI, Prognos and CapGemini, is launching a new study for the European Commission’s DG Energy on “EU’s Global Leadership in Renewables”. The study aims to answer two main questions:
• What are the key countries, key markets and key activities in the global renewable energy supply chain?
• What policies would best support the industrial competitiveness of the European renewable energy industry, and its added value to the EU economy and society?
The EU has committed to becoming a global leader in renewable energy. An ambitious and binding renewable energy target of 32% by 2030 was introduced as a cornerstone of its energy policy. While reaching the energy targets, the EU also aims at maximising the competitiveness of the European renewable industry and generating positive socio-economic impacts.
In this context, the European Commission is hosting a kick-off meeting at CEPS to present this new project and engage EU stakeholders.
The event is free of charge; registration is required. Remote participation can be arranged upon request.
