Global Gateway at two: Sitting with the big kids

Two years after its announcement, the EU Global Gateway launched by the self-described “geopolitical Commission” is grappling with the problems and priorities of our time. From economic security to technology competition, from the climate-security nexus to the quasi-permanent governance crisis of Foreign Policy “à 27”, and from our Neighbourhoods to the furthest corners of the Pacific, one thing is clear: the strategy could be more… strategic.

Following the 25-26 October Global Gateway Forum, CEPS invites you to a lively debrief-and-debate, informed by in-house research on the strategy’s implementation. With this data-informed backdrop, the strategy’s narrative offer, governance, and coordination will be discussed, both in the context of Team Europe and that of international and multilateral partnerships.

This event will also mark the preliminary launch of an upcoming CEPS Task Force on the Global Gateway. The Task Force is meant to encourage strategic building and streamlining of the Global Gateway toolbox, with an emphasis on private sector engagement.
