CEPS and the European Climate Foundation (ECF) are delighted to invite you to a discussion of “Climate-related financial disclosure: Which way forward for the EU?”. The topic of disclosure of climate-related financial risk is gaining traction. The European Commission recently set up the High-Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance (HLEG) to develop recommendations for a comprehensive programme of reforms to the EU financial policy framework. The HLEG provides an important opportunity to acknowledge and continue the work begun by the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), whose final report will be published in time for the G20 Leaders' Summit in Hamburg in July.
This meeting will provide an opportunity to discuss the various elements of carbon disclosure, and the implications of the TCFD’s recommendations for the EU, together with stakeholders from the investor community, energy industry and policy-makers.
The first session discusses the overarching vision of EU sustainable finance and the relevance of climate-related financial disclosure for achieving the global climate objectives set in Paris.
The second session focuses on challenges and opportunities in making sustainable finance a reality, with contributions from the public and private sectors.
