In-person event

On 1 July, Ireland will assume the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union. During its presidency, Ireland will play a leading role in advancing the EU’s competitiveness agenda at a critical time for the Union.

Competitiveness will be a central pillar of the Irish Presidency’s programme. It will be shaped by the ambitious objectives of the One Europe, One Market Roadmap, agreed by the European Council, European Parliament and European Commission in April.

The Roadmap sets out urgent and ambitious targets which the Irish presidency will drive forward with major legislative initiatives to deepen the single market, enhance economic resilience, increase energy security and drive the digital and AI transformation.

Ambassador Cáit Moran, Deputy Permanent Representative of Ireland to the EU, will join CEPS CEO Karel Lannoo to discuss the Irish presidency’s competitiveness priorities.
