ETPF/CEPS Tax Conference 2011
Amid weak fiscal conditions, environmental concerns, and an increasing recognition of market failures, taxation is once again at the core of policy debate in the EU. Many proposals are on the table, ranging from taxing banks to productivity enhancing incentives and carbon taxes. Though the options are numerous, policy decisions are at times made in a vacuum, without sufficient evidence on their impacts on businesses.
For over five years, the ETPF has commissioned independent research to educate the public and to provide the policy-makers and other experts with independent data and research on the effects of tax policy. The results of the research have been presented at annual conferences. This year’s conference will be hosted with active participation from CEPS.
