Petra Varkonyi is a Research Assistant in the Global Governance, Regulation, Innovation, and Digital Economy (GRID) Unit at CEPS. She supports projects related to EU and global health policy and governance.
Her previous research has focused on anticorruption in health systems and how politics shape health outcomes. Petra’s main research interest is in health systems and policy research, with a particular emphasis on health equity and the political determinants of health. She has also worked in project management roles related to scaling medical oxygen access, strengthening democratic institutions, and expanding and protecting reproductive rights.
She holds a Master’s degree in Demography & Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and a Bachelor of Arts in Public Health with a Health Policy concentration from the University of California, Berkeley.
She is fluent in English and Hungarian and has limited working proficiency in Spanish and German.
