Maria Kostylew is a Research Assistant in the Global Governance, Regulation, Innovation and Digital Economy (GRID) Unit.
Her interests include AI ethics and governance, institutionalism, intellectual history, authoritarian systems and digital democracy.
Maria holds a BA in English from the University of Oxford and a Master’s degree in International Political Theory from the University of St Andrews. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Politics from the University of Oxford with a focus on digital authoritarianism in Russia, the European far right and EU tech policy.
Maria is fluent in Russian and English with some knowledge of Polish and French.
