Louise Bengtsson is an Associate Research Fellow in the Global Governance, Regulation, Innovation and Digital Economy (GRID) Unit at CEPS. Her research focuses on the EU institutions and the EU’s role in global health, including perspectives related to security and planetary health. Louise has served as the Deputy Director of the Swedish Institute for European Policy Studies (Sieps) and currently teaches at the Swedish Defence University and the Karolinska Institute MA programme in Global Health as well as serves as the coordinator of the Lancet special series on diplomacy for health.
Louise has an MA from the College of Europe in Bruges and defended her PhD in International Relations at Stockholm University in 2019. She also has a background as a practitioner at the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Health and Food Safety in Brussels as well as the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs where she completed the diplomatic training programme.
