Júlia Pőcze is a Researcher in the Institutions unit at CEPS. A lawyer by training who specialises in European and comparative constitutional law, her research focus is on Article 2 TEU, particularly on the rule of law, democracy, institutional affairs and political integrity. She has extensive knowledge in legal and policy analysis, and assessing Treaty adherence and rule of law compliance, also in the context of conditionality.
Prior to joining CEPS in January 2024, she worked at the European Commission’s DG JUST on democracy, citizenship rights, and free movement, as well as the international law firm Andersen as a research fellow on company law, corporate restructuring and labour law.
At CEPS, she has been a core member of the organisation’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee since the beginning of 2025.
Born and raised in Budapest, Júlia received her degree in law (Dipl.-Jur.) from the University of Passau in Germany and her LL.M. (Master of Laws) in comparative constitutional law from the Central European University in Vienna, Austria.
She speaks Hungarian, German, and English fluently.
