CEPS is pleased to announce a call for interest for a new three-day executive course designed for mid- to senior level health policy experts and practitioners from low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) across the globe.
The course offers fresh insights into addressing global health challenges, advancing pandemic preparedness, and contributing to resilient health systems as well as into the EU as a global health actor. Besides training, the course provides an opportunity for participants to meet peers, engage directly with EU policy-makers and build lasting networks across continents — creating new bridges between expertise in LMICs and in Brussels. Knowledge-sharing is a major component of this course.
Over the three-days programme, participants will discuss with relevant stakeholders in Brussels, and take part in dedicated workshop and networking sessions. The sessions will dive into thematic areas of strategic importance, including AI in health, the global health governance and the EU’s role in global health and global health security and emerging threats. Each session will be led by top experts in the field, including physician Anders Nordström (Karolinska Institutet and former Director-General of the WHO), and policy and regulation researcher Andrea Renda (Director of Research at CEPS and professor at the European University Institute).
The course will be organised on 16-18 November 2026 in Brussels, and we will select approximately 15 participants.
To qualify, applicants should have the following qualifications:
- At least 7 years of relevant professional experience in global health, health policy, public health systems, health governance, or health-related research and innovation in academia, public sector, private sector or civil society.
- Experience in policy design, programme implementation, research, research coordination, international cooperation or similar.
- Be a recognised expert in the health sector at international or national level, potentially working with and aiming to expand collaboration with the EU on mission-oriented R&I projects, in the field of global health.
- Be affiliated with an organisation working in the field of global health, health policy, public health, research, and/or international cooperation. A relevant role could be for instance in policy development and implementation, programme management, research and advisory functions, policy advocacy, coordination and management of international cooperation
- Interest in or experience with international cooperation, including EU partnerships, development cooperation, international cooperation on R&I or global health initiatives.
- Ability to participate in person in the three-day course.
The course is free of charge and travel and accommodation will be covered for the selected participants.
