President Trump has been building up suspense over whether or not to withdraw the US from the Iran nuclear deal. There is a very real prospect that he will do so when the statutory deadline for recertification of the JCPOA expires on 12 May 2018. Trump’s ultimatum to Europe that flaws in the deal be fixed, and Iran’s response that the US would pay a high price for breaking the JCPOA, pile pressure on the EU to prevent the international agreement and hence regional security from being plunged into even more uncertainty.
This webinar explores the domestic and international ramifications if and when Trump walks away from the JCPOA and nuclear-related US sanctions snap back into place.
