The outcome of the Italian elections: Will populism in Europe divide the markets?

0

In the wake of the Swedish elections and the State of the Union, Europe’s next appointment takes us straight to Italy. On 25 September, Italians are called to the polls to vote in their General Election. Following this event, CEPS will host a debrief meeting to analyse the conclusions that can be drawn from the outcome of the elections.

Will there be a stable coalition with a majority in both houses? How will markets react to the new government? Will populism in Europe divide markets? How will Brussels and the Commission react? Are the payments for the PNRR in danger?

These and other aspects will be addressed during this webinar with comments by:

  • Daniel Gros, CEPS Distinguished Fellow.
  • Silvia Merler, Head of ESG and Policy Research at Algebris Investments.

Participation in the meeting is exclusive for CEPS members. If you wish to participate, contact [email protected]
