Prospects for the reform agenda in Ukraine

An energy and climate policy perspective

0

CEPS Energy Climate House and the Ukrainian Think Tanks Liaison Office in Brussels are jointly organising an event on the occasion of the release of a new report entitled “Ukraine and the Association Agreement in the energy sector: In a traffic jam?”. The report, prepared by the DiXi Group, a Ukrainian think-tank specialised in energy and climate policies, will serve as the background for discussion.

The event will examine Ukraine’s progress in introducing the reforms and will assess their impact on both the energy situation in the country and its industry. The debate will allow different parties on the panel to provide evidence of how new conditions are emerging to provide stability for Ukraine and the surrounding region. The objective of this event is to draw attention to the preconditions that must be present to ensure smooth implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement in the fields of energy, climate and industrial policies.

The DiXi Group report was prepared in the framework of a project called “Increase the civil society influence in monitoring and policy dialogue regarding reforms in the energy and related sectors in accordance with the implementation of the Association Agreement”, co-funded by the EU and International Renaissance Foundation. Several Ukrainian think-tanks and NGOs are taking part in this project, and their experts participate in task forces devoted to their respective fields of expertise.
