The OECD will present new data and highlights from its most recent work on measuring agricultural support and monitoring agricultural policy developments during a panel discussion at CEPS in Brussels on 6 July 2015, starting at 13:15hrs. The new data run through 2014, and cover all OECD countries as well as Brazil, China, Indonesia, the Russian Federation, Ukraine, Kazaksthan, and South Africa.
Agricultural Policies: Monitoring and Development will be presented by Carmel Cahill and Václav Vojtech from the OECD’s Trade and Agricultural Directorate. One of the main findings is that average levels of support to agricultural producers in OECD countries and in emerging economies are converging. The OECD recommends that countries put more effort into refocusing agricultural policies to address long-term needs for improving the productivity and sustainability performance of agriculture, to help it face the multiple challenges ahead.
