CEPS Energy Climate House kindly invites you to a high-level panel discussion with Gerassimos Thomas, Deputy Director-General,? DG Energy ?European Commission?,?Marco ?Alverà, CEO of SNAM? and ?Daniel Gros, Director of CEPS to discuss European and global political and economic implications of different gas scenarios.

?“Several observers have been lately describing the current times as a “golden age of gas”. While the US have experienced a shale gas revolution, in Europe the gas context has proven to be more difficult. In fact, we witness an increased liquidity, declining costs and emerging innovations in gas decarbonisation. At the same time, questions are raised on the long-term competitiveness beyond the expected period of oversupply and sustainability of the gas industry itself, notably including concerns around methane leakages.
