Senator Tony de Brum is Minister-in-Assistance (Vice-President equivalent) to the President of the Republic of the Marshall Islands. His portfolio includes climate change and energy issues.
The Marshall Islands are an important and active member of the Alliance of Small Island States (AOSIS), on of the important negotiating groups under UNFCCC. The EC has issued on March 26 a Consultative Communication entitled 'The 2015 International Climate Change Agreement: Shaping international climate policy beyond 2020' that discusses the EU stance towards the 2015 UNFCCC agreement.
