The growth of the Collaborative Economy in Europe presents challenges and opportunities for the expansion and evolution of the European Union’s (Digital) Single Market. In this first meeting, industry leaders, academics, and government officials will sit down together to lay the groundwork for producing actionable policy proposals for advancing the Collaborative Economy.
During the first half of this first meeting, we will introduce each other and discuss priorities for each stakeholder. The second half of the meeting will bite into the meat of the subject, examining the emerging definitions of collaborative platforms and their relevance to the current state of the Collaborative Economy.
Since the 2016 Commission Communication, the Collaborative Economy has changed and grown in Europe. Some previous problems still remain, and newer challenges have presented themselves. Now is the time to reconvene to pave the way for a conversation that will guide the course of this Task Force and set the stage for encouraging positive growth of the Collaborative Economy.
