Does Digital Management Exist? Challenges for the Next Generation of TV

What is the next generation of digital television? How will it be managed? How will it respond to regulation? And, more generally, are the principles of business management applicable to new digital organizations?

Professor Eli Noam, Columbia Business School, will kick off a discussion on these questions at CEPS on the 15th of October 2019 at 1pm.  His talk will build on two of his most recent and complementary books, entitled ‘Managing Media and Digital Organizations’ and ‘Digital and Media Management’ (

Professor Noam will begin this workshop around the themes of his books initiated by a brief summary of his major points of summary and conclusion on the subject, with a focus on online-TV, followed by questions and comments by respondents and the audience.

Eli Noam has been Professor of Economics and Finance at the Columbia Business School since 1976 and its Garrett Professor of Public Policy and Business Responsibility. He has been the Director of the Columbia Institute for Tele-Information, the author of 33 books on media and economic issues.

His new books on digital media and organizations have been praised by a range of digital and media luminaries in academia, industry, and government. We hope you can join the discussion.
