A U.S. View on the EU Digital Services Tax

0

Crunch-time is approaching for the European Commission’s digital tax proposal. By year-end, a decision is expected on a plan to impose a three percent tax on the revenues of certain companies with substantial digital operations in the EU.

A key player in this debate will be the United States, home to many of the targeted Big Tech companies. U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin has warned against unilateral action that targets U.S. technology companies — although Washington insists that it is committed to a comprehensive international solution.

Come hear Chip Harter, Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Tax Policy at the U.S. Treasury, to discuss the controversial digital tax proposal. Chatham House rules will apply.  The event is closed press.
