Energy and Climate Change
The European Union stands at the forefront of international efforts to develop and implement cost-effective international and domestic climate change policies to ensure that the EU meets its targets for 2020 and beyond, especially with regard to reducing greenhouse gas emissions. In support of this commitment, the Energy and Climate Change research unit at CEPS investigates a broad spectrum of challenges in these two related policy domains, from both an EU and the wider geopolitical perspective. The unit also acts as a ‘club’ for stakeholders, decision-makers and experts to discuss and analyse possible solutions to today’s energy and climate challenges and ways to effectively promote and implement these solutions.
In response to external demands to create an independent centre of excellence within CEPS that would be dedicated exclusively to global energy and climate policy issues, CEPS has launched the Energy Climate House (ECH).
