Scientific meeting and public panel in Barcelona of Euro-Med network of economic researchers

Employment creation and socio-economic development are among the main challenges confronting the Mediterranean in the coming years. As an active member of the Euro-Mediterranean Network of Economic Studies (EMNES) – a consortium of research institutions and think tanks based on both shores of the Mediterranean – CEPS contributes to efforts to measure and analyse trends and challenges in the region. On May 10-11th, the partners gathered on the premises of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) in Barcelona to discuss the research performed to date and to coordinate future work within the 3-year project. The consortium members also participated in a public panel with representatives of the European Commission and the UfM to discuss the role that the institutions can play to achieve a more sustainable and inclusive development model that emphasises employment creation, particularly for young people.
