New CEPS project on crisis response mechanisms unveiled

A new CEPS Horizon 2020 project, to be launched at a public seminar at CEPS on April 20th, aims to scrutinise (or ‘unpack’), in a ‘conflict-sensitive’ manner, the EU’s crisis-response mechanisms.  The conflicts in Iraq and Ukraine will be used as case studies to provide new insights and obtain a better understanding of how crisis response functions at the EU level, how it is received on the ground and how it can be improved. The approach used in these two case studies will present the local agencies and perceptions in target countries and allow for an analysis of the full conflict cycle, starting from EU intentions, motivations and subsequent implementation, to local actors' perceptions and reactions, and back again to the EU’s intentions and understanding.
