This network aims at training young researchers in the analysis of the links between bio-demographic developments on one side and retirement decisions and social expenditure on the other. With this purpose, trainees are placed in institutes that participate to the AGIR project, which aims to explore existing measures to describe the health status of an ageing population, and to feed these findings into projections of future pension and health expenditure. Trainees are involved in other research and related activities in the field of ageing, health and retirement carried out at the host institute.
