A team of European scholars will examine with partners, mainly from China, India, Russia and the US, challenges posed by the new emerging world constellation. This is a first attempt by a global think tank network to research together the issues with a systematic and structured inter-disciplinary (matrix) framework, examining first the stance of major world actors on the key policy dimensions to world politics (political ideologies, economics, migration, climate change, security and world view); second, drawing out evidence of cross-cutting linkages (between sectors and among major actors); and third, evaluating the evolution and adequacy of existing multilateral institutions in relation to the emerging multi-polarity, and formulate recommendations.
